ŁOSKOT | concert
Too old for convention and too mature for rebellion. ŁOSKOT is back on track and plays at the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre!
They stay in their wheelhouse and see what happens, playing to entertain you, but mostly to kill boredom. They are trying very hard – the drummer is trying his hardest because he is new and from Warsaw.
Mikołaj Trzaska – saxophones, bass clarinet
Piotr Pawlak – guitar
Olo Walicki – double bass
Macio Moretti – drums
Formed in 1993 in Gdansk, Poland, Łoskot is a band with a long history. The four guys with baggage have just got together. They don’t play what they used to or what they’re expected to – they play what’s inappropriate but, in their opinion, necessary.
For music fans in Poland, Łoskot is first and foremost one of the most significant bands of the Tricity yass scene. The group was active at the turn of the centuries (from 1993 to 2005, to be exact). It was a revolution time – the salty wave from the seaside permeated Polish music scene, changing the face of jazz and rock. The band had released four albums and played a number of smashing concerts before going on a hiatus when yass began to follow predictable formulas. It’s been over 12 years since the release of their last album Sun. Meanwhile, the guys have remained active musicians, but also went to therapies, built houses and raised kids. The time of reunion was slowly coming on. And – there you go.
Starting from the first concert on 4 August 2017, at OFF Festival, they have taken the show on the road and have been regularly touring the country and beyond.
